Re: Description of evolution

Judith,

You can -always- take me to mean everything I say.

What I can't always promise to do is to identify
a socratic question when I pose one.

A person -can pose a question- to explore possible
answers, without having to be personally invested
-in- the question. Doesn't mean you throw away
everything the person states or asks, as though
they committed an egregious impropriety by
exploring outside the box. And you remember
psych 101 don't you? ... the sudden unexpected
event in the middle of a class, which ends up
being a professor planned study in collective
memory reactions under duress situations. If the
prof has said, "ok class I'm about to have something
happen to see how well you spontaneously remember
details of the event." That would have completely negated
the raw natural spontaneous reaction/memory rete
of every stident there. The while activity would
have been undermined.

I didn't tell a lie or present myself falsely,
those few emails ago. I posed the situation
that if one substitutes the subject matter
of 'living systems' into your sentences which
you intended to only reference models and non-living
systems, that the consistency and validity of the new
application stayed as high as the original meanings-set.

Which I was hoping would make evident that things
are closer and more subtly differentiated between
living and non living systems, than ususal conversation
makes evident.

Anyway, yes Gorbachev was in there also; but don't tell
the Reagan Conservatives. :-)
