Re: Paperback edition of Life Itself - more delay

I'm currently studying the legal contract my father signed with CUP to see if there is any way out of his obligations to them. Their behavior with the availability of the books ought to be grounds for dissolution of the contract, it seems to me. Particularly since they haven't said one word to me about what the hold-up is. I haven't been able to get any information out of them other than "the people you need to talk to are on vacation right now and won't be back until.... We'll ask them to get in touch then." ARG!!!

Meanwhile, it has been suggested to me that the most useful thing people can do is write directly to the company, as Tim did, but I'll post the email addresses I've got for various people at CUP and you can email these folks directly:

Carol Kotash
E-mail Address(es):
  ***

Philip Leventhal (Columbia U...
E-mail Address(es):
  ***

Robin Smith (Columbia U. Pre...
E-mail Address(es):
  ***

Roy Thomas
E-mail Address(es):
  ***

Some of these people have probably changed job titles, but they are the ones who I have corresponded with about the two books they "own" of my father's. Let me know what happens.

Another update from Amazon.com just arrived today regarding my order for the paperback edition of Life Itself:

We wanted to let you know that there is a delay with item(s) in the order you placed on March 03 2005 13:41 PST

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this delay.

- Updated shipping estimate: June 17 - July 1
- Updated delivery estimate: June 22 - July 8
Regards,
Tim

P.S. - As this was not my first experience of this kind with them, I just sent a nasty email to Columbia Univ. Press (***) expressing in no uncertain terms my utter dislike for CUP.
