Thank you Jack. Thank you John M.
.. now back to my original question ..
for all systems (natural and closed), which have
as an essential characteristic: entailment ,
what aspects are or contribute 'information'
such that the ensemble system draws on or utilizes
it/them (internalizes the qualia) and forms behaviors
and function patterns which are both end-products -and-
sources in and of themselves, capable of generating
next information feeds?
Hawking in recent years has attempted a 'conservation of
information' thesis. Patently, as Howard pointed out in
his latest post, RR identified that "living systems are
open and evolving systems so they can have no material or
energy conservation laws"; and by inference, no information
conservation either.
So, we are directed towards trying to identify performance
consistencies - including iteration, emergence generation,
and entailment - patterns which are in and of themselves
rule-bound and dependable. A logic of performance where
the 'entities' are the relations and not the measurables.
Rather than keeping the dominant operator, the historically used
relation comparator ... the 'equals' sign [=], another dominant
operator should be used .. the 'produces' sign.[->].
just an idea for your considerings.
