Howard, 
this makes me think of William James' works (1904: A world of pure experience; 1912: 
Essays in radical empiricism) on radical experience. His favorite example was the 
conjunction between two elements (say: two propositions) being as meaningful, and 
therefore as real, as the conjugated elements.
