Did you ever see Robin Williams' HBO special made a few years ago? He did a riff on NASA's screwups with the first hubble, the first Mars rover, and so forth. ("The rover was designed in centimeters and I programmed it in inches! OOPS!!!"). I don't have much faith in the common sense of various "rocket-scientists"!
