This is a general announcement that "BioTheory: A Journal of
General Science based on the Rosennean Complexity Paradigm" is set to
launch its inaugural issue on January 1st, 2005. This is a publication created
as a forum for new science, in memory of Dr. Robert Rosen. It can be found
at www.rosen-enterprises.com
(follow the links on the main page).
The theme for the inaugural issue is TIME. Robert
Rosen's pioneering work on Anticipatory Systems Theory (as part of
Rosennean Complexity Theory) revealed that "time" is not quite as simple as
contemporary physics would have it. Biological systems interact with time in
ways that suggest a complex organization to TIME, itself. The work in Robert
Rosen's book, Anticipatory Systems (written in 1978, published in 1985,
and republished in 2003), provides a sound theoretical basis from which to build
a more accurate scientific description of what TIME is and how it
works.
Please consider this an invitation to contribute a paper
to the inaugural edition of BioTheory.
DETAILS:
Abstracts are due by September 30th, 2004 and final papers are due
by December 30th, 2004. There are no length stipulations, beyond what the
subject combined with basic common sense dictate. A rough guideline would be
somewhere between two pages and 25 pages in length. The journal will be
available solely online, at this point. Authors retain their full copyrights,
granting only permission to publish their paper on the Rosen
Enterprises website via BioTheory. There will be no financial exchanges as the
journal is being made available free of charge. Authors are asked to include
sufficient contact information that interested readers can reach you for further
inquiries about your work.
Feel free to contact Judith Rosen with questions or concerns via ***.
