HP: I agree, but you did not interpet correctly what I wrote:
The definition of state in physics and systems science is exactly what Rosen
says, AS, p. 74: ? a state embodies that information about a natural system
which must be encoded [by observation and measurement] in order for some kind
of prediction to be made.? That?s all. There is no restriction to a point in
time.
I am stating how normal physics and systems science define state. Rosen knows very well
how they define state, that is why I used his definition. I did not imply that this was
Rosen's "belief." I simply elaborated on what this definition means.
As You point out, Rosen has many other ideas about the concept of state.
