Hi James,

I'm probably not going to make it up to San Fran, although my sister and I are going to 
Santa Barbara on Tues to scatter some of Dad's ashes there. He loved the year he spent in 
Santa Barbara-- he said it was his happiest professional experience, at Robert Hutchins' 
institute. I am also mixing in as much business as I can. I found someone to redesign the 
website, for example. I will have approximately four days after Wednesday that aren't 
spoken for though. Tell me about San Fransisco and how Rosennean Complexity is received 
there...

Are there any other list members who live in the vicinity? I'd love to meet as many as 
possible. I'm also searching for a colleague of my father's named Dave Balaban. Does 
anyone have suggestions on how to track him down aside from search engine sleuthing? He 
was in the Los Angeles area for years so if he's still here, I want to meet up with him.

re 'political correctness' .. I boldfacedly
challenge -many- who's ideas are contra to
my percepts & thinking.  And though I'm the
tiniest bit more circumspect these days, I
still stand up to some of the popular
mainstream folk, Stu Kaufmann being one.

I can understand your Dad's impressions, their
stance, his adjustment, and the cordial-at-a-distance
relationship which probably set in after that.

He was a firm nature-of-being thinker and SFI
is 'how-do-we-apply-this-and-make-money' group.
