A word about cross-posts

To
all,
I can appreciate
that the content of many threads and messages can often apply to multiple
lists. This makes cross-posting a simple and straightforward method of
disseminating this kind of content.
However,
cross-posts do not generally allow us to continue on the original conversation
in a useful way since the original participants do not belong to the
cross-posted list. Instead, the cross-posts must be formulated so that they
arrive to this list in a way that makes clear what the poster's intent is in
doing so.
I strongly
urge that in the future that any cross-posts be edited and prefaced with
a reason why the particular thread was cross-posted, and how it
is relevant to the discussion of Rosennean ideas. The actual cross-posted
content will then have a context for all our listmembers.
Regards,
Tim
