The publishing world and Rosennean Complexity

Hi, Everyone.
I have successfully stopped the offending additions from being added to my
father's paperback version of Life, Itself via Columbia University Press. My
conclusions regarding the two scientists mentioned were that Steve Pacala is an
intelligent guy and is doing some good work, but it is not work of the scope or
nature of my father's nor does he seem to have the appreciation for those
aspects of my father's work. He would not be my first choice to write an
"endorsement". The other fellow has a paper listed in his publications that has
a title along the lines of "Simplifying Complexity". I stopped researching him
at that point.
I was astonished to hear that Tim received his copies of Life, Itself in
hard cover. How did they get their hands on more copies, I wonder. I was told
that there were no more and no more would be printed in hardcover. Tim, compare
it to your original copies and tell me if there is any difference in quality of
binding, etc. I wonder if they sent it to a print-on-demand publisher to get at
least a few copies with which to fulfill orders.
I do have the opportunity to get them to fix the typos, so anyone who has
updated files of their locations, send me your latest versions and I will
forward them on to Columbia U. Press. Thanks for your help, by the way!
Cheers,
Judith
