Re: List software request

Hi John,

The list server does not do anything to the text - it only passes it through "as-is", the way it came from the sender.

The only time there are any formatting options is when viewing the archives, where you can choose "proportional font" (which you would use for msgs in HTML), or non-proportional font (for plain text msgs).

I can ask that folks refrain from using a font size smaller than 10 or 12; but, there is nothing as administator I can do to enforce it. Also, if you are getting exceedingly long lines, then perhaps there is an option in your email software to enable "line wrap". But, otherwise, I am afraid I do not know of a solution that can be implemented on the list server.

Regards,
Tim

Dear Tim, (as list-owner)
the texts provided by the software of the list are small-fonted, not like these, and harder to read for the aging part of the members
(a growing audience). What is more important: the lines are  much
-----l o n g e r ---------
than fitting into the screen-width, even if transferred into the ('right up corner square') full screen mode.

That pertains with Judith's texts and yours prodided "in behalf of...".
I think the listserv could correct that: by larger and better visible fonts and shorter (screen-fitting) lines in the "reproduced" texts.

In anticipated appreciation
