Welcome to the discussion group! :)
I definitely agree with you re Shannon information and complexity. I was
mainly curious what they used as underlying justification for the proposed
Shannon information situation, and that turned out to be: 1) reductionism to
(at least) a QM level, and 2) the finite-dimensional Hilbert space
representation of that QM level. It was the latter that intrigued me,
because it is pervasive to all QM theories (as far as I know) and I think is
also used in sub-QM theories (like string theory). So, exposing a general
flaw in Hilbert space representations seemed like a fun thing to do. :)
